Donβt Let Keratoconus Blur Your Future
Keratoconus is an eye disorder where the cornea (front surface of the eye) becomes thin and bulges into a cone shape, causing distorted and blurred vision. It usually appears in the late teens or early adulthood and worsens over time, leading to light sensitivity, double vision, and difficulty with everyday tasks like reading, driving, or using screens.
Causes may include: genetics, eye rubbing, injuries, untreated eye conditions, or associated diseases (e.g. Down Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).
Symptoms:
Blurry or distorted vision
Light sensitivity & glare
Difficulty with contact lenses
Progressive nearsightedness or astigmatism
Complications: In advanced cases, scarring of the cornea may occur, requiring advanced treatments like corneal transplant.
